Events will take place from 10am to 3pm and include a ‘Jubilant Jewels Craft Workshop’, where little princes and princesses can make crowns and tiaras using paints, glitter and gems.

All materials are provided on the day and instructions and guidance will be given from supervisors.

There will be ‘Sovereign Selfies’, where people can pose for photos on a luxurious throne next to a life-size cut out of The Queen.

All patriotic pictures will then be uploaded to Castle Dene’s Facebook page where followers can vote for the best selfie in order to win £90 to spend at the centre.

Grand giveaways will include an opportunity to win a prize every 90 minutes from one of Castle Dene’s stores.

Local musicians are also being sought to perform on the day.

The shopping centre’s street party will include live entertainment, games, stalls, charity fundraising and more.

Castle Dene is currently on the search for local musicians to perform British classics at the party.

Matthew Middleton from the centre said: “Our Queen’s 90th birthday event is the perfect opportunity for local residents to celebrate everything the Queen has done for the country over the last 63 years

“But we’re also keen for our event to be community spirited, hence our search for musicians in the local area.”

Those interested should email [email protected] with a link to a video of them performing. The closing date for submissions is Friday, May 13, at 5pm.
