Photography competition

KEEN photographers have a few days left to get their entries in ahead of a popular competition.

For the second consecutive year, the Elwick village fete will include the photography contest which has a Diamond Jubilee and Olympic theme.

The deadline for entries is Monday, September 3 ahead of the village fete on Sunday, September 9 from 2pm-5pm.

Hartlepool Mail deputy chief photographer Frank Reid will be judging the competition on the day.

Hilary Thompson, a member of the Elwick Millennium Association, organisers of the fete, said: “Last year’s photography competition was a great success.

“We hope this year’s theme will catch the imagination and we’ll have even more entries.”

Application forms can be collected from the Hartlepool Mail office, in New Clarence House, Wesley Square, or from Elwick Village Post Office.
