YOUNG people will have the chance to find out what their futures may hold in a recruitment drive today.
Springboard Hartlepool is opening its doors to school-leavers interested in seeing how the work-based learning route can suit them rather than conventional further education routes.
They can find out about work-based learning apprenticeships, training and qualifications, and also how they can use it as an alternative route into university.
Springboard currently offers apprenticeships in graphic design and print, horticulture, elderly care, childcare, retail, warehousing and business administration, sport, health and fitness, as well as a highly successful Foundation Learning programme.
Manager Carl Fox said: “What many young people are not aware of is how work-based learning will work for them.
“We will have hands-on activities and workshops throughout the day which will show young people more about vocational programmes, and the kind of work that they would be doing while in training.”
The recruitment day is to be held at Springboard, in Tower Street, today from 1pm – 7pm.
