A POPULAR community centre has a host of sessions on offer for parents, children and toddlers.

Belle Vue Community Sports & Youth Centre, in Kendal Road, Hartlepool, hosts a Play and Train session for parents who want to keep fit but struggle for childcare.

They take place every Tuesday between 10am and 11am and it costs £5.50. It includes a one-hour nursery session for the child while the parent enjoys a one-hour circuit training session in the gym.

Claire Wainwright, nursery co-ordinator, said: “Do you want to get fit but struggle for childcare?

“If your answer is yes then we have the perfect solution for you, come along to our Play and Train sessions.”

The Belle Vue Centre also hosts a Parent and Toddler Group on Tuesdays between 1pm and 2.30pm and Thursdays between 9.30am and 11am. It costs £1 per child and includes drink and snacks.

There is also a chair exercise class - for people of all abilities - every Wednesday between 10am and 11am. It costs £3 per session.

The centre is also home to Little Treasures Day Nursery, which opened in April this year.

Centre bosses say they wanted to open the day nursery to widen the age range of the busy community centre but also to accommodate those youngsters in the surrounding areas who may qualify for free funded childcare places.

Parents are asked to call the centre or to pop in to see if their child is eligible for the 15-hours free chid care during term time only. For information call Belle Vue Community Sports & Youth Centre on (01429) 221832.
