A TEENAGER was assaulted with a chain in an unprovoked attack.
The 18-year-old man was left with abrasions to his arm and neck and cuts to his knuckles after the assault in Lancaster Road, near to the junction with Brougham Terrace, in Hartlepool.
He was walking along the road at around 10.30pm last Thursday, August 9, when a man approached them from behind on a bike.
A “verbal altercation” took place before the man got off his bike and assaulted the teenage victim with a chain.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
The suspect is described as being white with a pale complexion, unshaven and around 6ft 2in tall.
He is said to have a stocky build and have long fair hair and a fringe.
He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a black leather jacket, fawn coloured cargo pants and black and white Dr Beat headphones.
