Police appeal after break-in at popular Hartlepool pub

Police are appealing for information after a popular Hartlepool pub was targeted by burglars in the early hours of the morning.

The Tall Ships Pub on Mulberry Rise in the town was broken into at 6.50am today, but nothing was taken.

Pub bosses believe that the intruders were planning on stealing money from the fruit machines.

No one was injured in the incident.

A statement on the pub's Facebook page said: "Unfortunately we have been victim to a break-in during the early hours of this morning.

"Nobody hurt and nothing taken in this attempt to steal money from the fruit machines.

"The gentlemen were kind enough to capture themselves on multiple CCTV sources.

"Following their exit from the building, they proceeded past Sainsbury's and towards the Bishop Cuthbert Estate."

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "We received a report of an attempt burglary at 6.50am this morning.

"Nothing was stolen and enquiries are on-going."

Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference 153344.
