Police appeal after Hartlepool road crash leaves cyclist with broken hand

POLICE in Hartlepool are appealing for witnesses after a road smash left a cyclist with a broken hand.

The collision happened on the A689 Stockton Road in the town, approaching the roundabout with the Owton Lodge public house.

The incident happened at around 8.30am this morning, when a 38-year-old male pedal cyclist and a Toyota Auris collided.

The cyclist was left with a broken hand which was dislocated and was taken to the Univeristy Hospital of North Tees and was later dischaged.

The driver of the vehicle was unhurt.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Pc Craig Wren from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101 quoting event number 069768.
