VANDALS who damaged a hut on the Summerhill country park site in Hartlepool are being hunted by police.

The incident happened yesterday between 6.20pm and 6.45pm when a small group of youths, both boys and girls, damaged the hut, which is made from branches and twigs.

One of the youths responsible is believed to have been wearing a black top with white writing on it.

One girl was wearing a leather jacket, and another was wearing a black and white striped T-shirt.

Pc Joe Crane said: “The police received a report of a small group of youths in the area at the time of the incident when the hut was damaged.

“The cost and inconvenience to the centre is considerable, and we would urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.”
