Police appeal for information after car and van crash

POLICE are appealing for information after a collision on the outskirts of Hartlepool on Saturday.

It occurred at approximately 7.45am on the A1046 Haverton Hill Road when a Peugeot Dispatch van which had been travelling west was in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra van which had been travelling in the opposite direction.

The 62-year-old driver of the Citroen was treated at the University Hospital of North Tees for fractured vertebrae and he was released yesterday, Sunday 21st December.

The 23-year-old male driver of the Astra did not attend hospital.

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact PC Neil Bennett of the Cleveland & Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event 223237.
