Police board ship to arrest suspected drunken sailor

A SAILOR has been arrested by police on board a ship earlier today after he was believed to be drunk.

The 62-year-old man was on the vessel at Seal Sands, Hartlepool, when police were made aware of his alleged condition.

Cleveland Police were called to help the Harbour Police at 5.30am today.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Cleveland Police were called to assist Harbour Police on board a ship in Seal Sands at around 5.30am this morning.

“A 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being impaired through drink or drugs. He is currently in police custody.”
