Police hunt concrete boxer dog

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a garden ornament was stolen.

A 3ft concrete boxer dog ornament was taken from the front garden of a house in Newcastle Avenue, in Horden.

The theft is said to have taken place some time between 4pm on Wednesday and 9am on Thursday.

The 63-year-old female occupant of the property is said to be very distressed about the incident.

Sergeant Ian Dickinson, of Peterlee Police, said: “The ornament is quite distinctive - obviously there can’t be many of them around and we would ask for people to be alert.”

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Peterlee Police on 0345 6060365 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
