Police release e-fits in search for men who tried to lure 13-year-old girl to Hartlepool park

Police are releasing two E-fits of men they want to speak with in connection with two suspicious incidents involving a 13-year-old girl on Merlin Way in Hartlepool.

The first incident occurred at around 8:15am to 8:20am on Thursday February 25 when two men were loitering in the area of Merlin Way in Hartlepool between the junctions of Moorhen Road and Goldfinch Road.

The two men approached the girl and asked her to accompany them to “Bishy Park”.

The second incident occurred the following morning at around the same time on Friday February 26 in the same location and one of the men took hold of the victim’s arm but they did not move her from the location.

One of the men is described as white, in his 40s, of average build with facial piercings and he was wearing ripped jeans, a beige jacket, black t-shirt with a skull on the front and trainers.

The second man is described as black, in his 40s and of average build and he was wearing navy tracksuit bottoms, a beige jacket and trainers. .

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who believed they may know the identity of the men in the E-fits are asked to contact Detective Constable Neil Coverdale on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
