A POSTAL worker has given the Mail’s Proud to be a Poolie campaign his personal stamp of approval.
Former Hartlepool man Peter Curry, 61, has put up the Mail’s promotional poster on the wall at his place of work in the Royal Mail collection office in Tonbridge, Kent.
Peter, who has lived in Kent for 22 years, said: “If you’re from the town, it’s only right that you show your pride.
“The more publicity we can give Hartlepool the better.
“My colleagues take the mickey out of me because I’m from the north and they say give the usual monkey hanger jibes.
“But I’m 100 per cent Hartlepool – I’m never going to be a southerner!”
Peter, who formerly lived in Seaton Carew and was born in a pre-fab building in the Grayfields area put up the poster next to a picture of a beach wagon at Seaton Carew.
Now you can follow in Peter’s footsteps and show your passion about your town.
All we want you to do is pick up a copy of our poster from the Hartlepool Mail reception or download it from www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk. It contains the slogan Proud To Be A Poolie.
Take it with you whenever you go on holiday or go away for a short break.
Have your photograph taken with the poster and send it to us so that we can publish it – and show that you have helped to spread the Hartlepool word.
Send your photos – as well as details including age, address, telephone number and email to the Mail newsdesk, Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS24 8BX, or log onto www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk
