Pools come up against the side with the best away record in the National League tomorrow when Macclesfield Town come to Victoria Park (kick-off 3pm).

The Silkmen are the best-travelled team, with seven wins and a draw from their 11 trips.

Pools, too, have lost only three games on the road and, coincidentally, the two clubs share an almost identical home record.

But the Macc lads have three more wins away from home and that is the principal difference between the northern clubs who are separated by nine places and seven points.

Harrison (pictured) is an admirer of John Askey’s team, who have coped admirably with the loss of assistant boss Steve Watson, who left to become Gateshead boss in Ocober.

The Silkmen have drawn their last three matches to slip from second to fourth, but the side’s ability to keep eking out points has impressed the Pools boss.

“They have a level of consistency,” said Harrison, who believes their tactics are suited to playing away.

“We all want to win every game, but consistency sees you chip away at your target.

“They play the same type of football home and away, a counter-attacking style, which seems to suit them.

“Perhaps they are not particularly on the front foot at home – their home record is not maybe what it should be.

“But they have a fantastic away record. They are a decent side, perhaps under-rated, but they are a good footballing side.”

Harrison is likely to make a change up front with Tomi Adeloye set to come in for his first start. The 20-year-old, who spent a short spell at the Moss Rose ground two years ago, has come on in the second half of the last two matches.
