HARTLEPOOL United have swooped to bring former Peru international Nolberto Solano to Victoria Park.
The 36-year-old turned down a deal to stay at Championship side Hull City to join up with Mick Wadsworth at Pools.
The sensational deal comes as Pools look to sell 4,000 season tickets at £100 each.
Wadsworth first worked with Solano at Newcastle United when he was assistant to Sir Bobby Robson.
Solano quickly became a firm favourite for the Magpies after joining for £2.5m in 1998 from Boca Juniors.
He went on to make over 400 appearances and has also enjoyed spells at Aston Villa, West Ham United and Leicester City before joining Hull last summer.
