TFM Radio breakfast show presenter Wayne Allen will once again compere the awards ceremony.

He admits he was moved to tears at last year’s event and is bracing himself for another evening of raw emotion.

The popular presenter said he felt honoured to be involved again this year.

Wayne, who is a also a Mail columnist and spends a lot of time working with schools and community initiatives in the town, is expecting another tear-jerker of an evening when he takes to the stage to host the awards in March.

He said: “I will never forget the emotion and enthusiasm that was shown last year. It was so raw and so, so moving.

“It was humbling to be involved in a ceremony that celebrated and honoured those people in Hartlepool who make such a difference on a daily basis.

“It was an incredible evening and I have no doubt the same emotions will be on display this year.”

“I would urge everyone who knows someone special to put them forward for an award.”

“Just being involved in such an event as this is an amazing experience and so rewarding for everyone.”
