A FAMILY talked up their town as they went on a week-long tour.

Semi-retired welder Graham Stephenson, 62, was joined by his partner, Linda Welch, 60, and grandchildren Ryan Stephenson, 13, and Demi Day, 14, for the trip.

The four of them headed to Liverpool, Blackpool, Nottingham and Emmerdale during their whirlwind holiday.

But they still found time to stop by a number of landmarks to have their photos taken with our Proud to be a Poolie poster.

Among the sites they called at were the Woolpack Inn, in Esholt, West Yorkshire, where Emmerdale used to be filmed and Liverpool’s Penny Lane, made famous by The Beatles song of the same name.

They were also snapped in Holmfirth, in West Yorkshire, where they stood on the steps of the home of Nora Batty from the sitcom Last of the Summer Wine.

Other locations on their journey included a cake shop Bakewell, Derbyshire, and the gates of St Peter’s Church, in Nottingham.

Linda, who lives in Queensway, Greatham, on the outskirts of Hartlepool, and works as a cleaner at Dyke House College of Technology, said: “We had a good time and it was great to go to all the different places.

“I take the poster everywhere we go. We’re very proud of it.”

WHY not take your chance to show your passion about your town?
