The Duke of Edinburgh is set to call by at an Easington school during a North-East visit on Wednesday.
Prince Philip will open a Royal Garden at Langley Park Primary School, in County Durham, before visiting Glendene Arts Academy, in Crawlaw Road, Easington Colliery.
The Duke is to view the newly-enhanced facilities at the academy before unveiling a commemorative plaque to mark the event.
The new extension provided under the Building Schools for the Future initiative, includes a sports hall, food technology and art rooms and digital media suite.
The 91-year-old is heading to the region after visiting Sandhurst.
