Public urged to take part in Hartlepool beach clean-up

Environment lovers can help the Hartlepool coastline by taking part in a beach clean.

An event called the Seaton Beachwatch is being planned on Saturday, April 2.

It will last from 11am to 1pm and it is a chance for people to join in with the UK’s biggest beach clean and litter survey.

The event is being held by organisers at the Marine Conservation Society in conjunction with the Hartlepool Countryside team.

The aim is help to improve the beach at Seaton Carew.

All equipment and light refreshments will be provided for anyone who takes part.

Those who join in are urged to wear clothing which is suitable for cold weather.

Anyone interested in taking part should meet near the water treatment plant in the Seaton coach park.
