SHOPPERS have just this weekend left in which to support their favourite schools.

Our annual Shop for Schools contest, run in association with Hartlepool’s Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, finishes tomorrow.

Organisers are therefore urging customers to make sure they take any outstanding receipts to the complex’s information desk to convert them into points vouchers.

The idea behind Shop for Schools is simple.

Every pound spent until tomorrow at the shopping centre is worth one point.

Spend more than 50p in the pound and your points total is rounded up.

Double points are also on offer on Sundays.

Vouchers should be placed in one of 30 individually-marked letter boxes next to the desk.

The more points your favourite school or nursery receives then the better the prizes they receive from the shopping centre.

Gifts on offer this year include books, televisions, computers and sporting equipment.

But do not worry that smaller entrants will suffer unfairly.

Final totals will be divided by school and nursery rolls to ensure that size does not matter.

Our latest league table shows Hartlepool’s Ward Jackson School in the lead with fellow town primaries Throston and Kingsley in second and third respectively.

Final standings and prize details will be revealed soon.
