HOUSEHOLDERS have been reminded that they will be able to recycle their unwanted real Christmas trees from next week.
Hartlepool Borough Council is carrying out kerbside collections of discarded trees on a ward-by-ward basis from Monday, January 7, to Friday, January 18.
All people need to do to ensure that their trees are taken away is to put them on the kerb outside their homes by 7.30am on the day of collection.
All of the trees that are collected will be taken to a local farm for composting and the finished compost will be made available to residents at future “compost giveaway” events to be organised by the council.
Kerbside collections will take place on the following dates:
l De Bruce Ward – Monday, January 7.
l Headland & Harbour Ward – Tuesday, January 8.
l Jesmond Ward – Wednesday, January 9.
l Victoria and Burn Valley wards – Thursday, January 10
l Foggy Furze Ward – Friday, January 11.
