A popular fireworks display - which attracts thousands of people every year - will have a pirates theme this year.

Early details have been released on this year’s Hartlepool Fireworks and Music Spectacular.

It will be held from 4pm on Thursday, November 5, and will once again take place at the Seaton Carew seafront promenade.

The event starts at 4pm with a funfair and continues at 5pm with entertainment at the clock tower.

The display of fireworks will get under way at 6.30pm in the event which is sponsored by Niramax Total Waste Solutions, and will have a pirates theme.

Last year’s event had the theme of Fire and Ice and there were also appearances from the Disney smash hit Frozen.

It was also revealed last year that the event would move from its weekend slot to a midweek timing this year because it would otherwise not have been close enough to Bonfire Night itself.
