Road rage attack appeal

A ROAD rage incident is said to have spilled over into daylight violence.

Two drivers are said to have come to blows outside Richardson & Westgarth Social Club after an argument flared in Winterbottom Avenue, in the West View area of Hartlepool.

Police say two men, who were in a Mini Clubland and a Seat Toledo at the time, had a disagreement in the street about a motoring matter.

The heated discussion is then said to have resulted in an assault not far from the Coral bookmakers.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We are appealing for information about an assault which occured outside a social club and bookmakers in Hartlepool.

“Two males had been involved in a suspected road rage-type incident and it has resulted in an assault.

“We would appeal for anyone who saw the incident or who has information about what happened to get in touch.”

The assault is said to have taken place at around 9am on Friday, February 4.

Anyone witnesses or people with information are asked to contact PC Kathryn Dunn on (01642) 302178 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
