A COMEDY night proved a huge hit with organisers already planning another before the end of the year.
Hartlepool Rugby Club, in Easington Road, was packed out when the Hilarity Bites Comedy Club returned.
A top line-ups of comedians were on the bill with organisers hailing it as a “fantastic night”.
Compere Ray Bradshaw got the crowd going before Scott Gibson and Alan Sharp took to the stage.
Highly rated and world-travelled one-man-band Duncan Oakley then stole the show with his array of musical comedy.
The former BBC New Comedy Awards finalist is a regular at Edinburgh Fringe and frequently appears on television and radio shows.
Stewart Hind, member of Hartlepool Rugby Club and organiser of the event, said: “It was a fantastic night and the feedback we have had since has been great.
“The compere Ray Bradshaw had the crowd in stitches throughout with his witty observation.
“Scott Gibson and Alan Sharp were both excellent and Duncan Oakley was absolutely superb.
“His songs and jokes had the crowd lapping up for more.”
The Hilarity Bites Comedy Roadshow has stopped off at Hartlepool Rugby Club in the past and after the success of the most recent show there’s already talk of when the show will return.
Stewart added: “Due to the success of the night we are definitely planning on holding another comedy event, hopefully it will be just as good as this one.”
The event is being planned for Saturday, October 5.
