Organisers are looking forward to another successful event after around 300 people took part in the inaugural event last year.

It was the hospice’s fastest selling event of the year and this year they are hoping to pull in at least 500 runners.

Hospice community fundraiser Janice Forbes said: “Last year’s Colour Run was one of our most popular events ever and we are thrilled with the response so far this year.

“The more people who take part, the bigger the boost to our fundraising, all of which helps to ensure we can continue to provide our unique range of services to patients and their families from the local communities of Hartlepool and East Durham who are affected by incurable illness.”

The fun run leaves Seaton coach park, next to Seaton Carew Golf Club, at 11am.

In the lead up there will be entertainment from DJ Kevin King and dancers from Amy Richardson’s Dance Studio.

Runners are showered with the colourful powder at four paint stations along the route.

Each of the paint stations have been sponsored by Readhead Associates, Fire97, Focus Cladding, Yorkshire Bank and Tangent.
