Keen runners are snapping up places fast on the first ever Hartlepool & District Hospice Colour Run.
Those still wanting to enter must come forward now for any hope of securing one of the last few spots.
The colourful five-kilometre event is an untimed race where runners are showered from head to toe in different colours of paint powder.
Runners will find themselves facing the paint shower at four stations along the route.
Hospice officials have described the exciting new event as a great family fun day out, which is open to runners of all ages and abilities.
The run will start from the old coach park in Seaton Carew at 11am on Saturday, August 22.
The run follows a route from the promenade along the seafront to Newburn Bridge and back.
Registration, which includes a white T-shirt, packet of paint powder and refreshments, is £10 for adults and £7.50 for children under 16 years of age.
Hospice community fundraiser Janice Forbes said: “This is a really exciting new event for the hospice and the first of its kind in Hartlepool.
“Colour runs are extremely popular and we are looking forward to meeting lots of people who want to have some colourful fun whilst raising valuable funds for the Hospice.”
The hospice, in Wells Avenue, offers specialist palliative care to hundreds of adults from Hartlepool and East Durham each year.
