YOUNG stars at a Hartlepool school are conquering the opposition in four different sports.
And one dad is so proud, he’s nominated them for the Hartlepool Mail’s brand new Sports Awards competition.
The Year 5 and 6 teams at Sacred Heart School, in Hart Lane, Hartlepool, have certainly impressed Chris Ward.
The 44-year-old has a ten-year-old son Joshua at the school which has seen its teams emerge victorious from competitions in boys football, swimming, athletics and cricket.
Chris, who works as a nurse in the stroke and medical rehabilitation sections of the University Hospital of Hartlepool, said: “I feel an award would be well deserved for such a good sporting team.
“I think it is important that we support sport. It is good for the children to be part of a team and it keeps them fit as well.”
The teams to enjoy success were all in the 10 and 11-year-old age groups. Chris added: “They have gone all over to compete. They have played cricket at Park Drive and won a cup final at Victoria Park. They have done really well.”
