Safe was stolen from dad

A MAN has admitted stealing a safe from his father.

Philip Mark Thorpe, 22, appeared in custody before Hartlepool magistrates yesterday.

Mitigating, John Relton said Thorpe’s guilty plea was on the basis that there was £68 inside his dad’s small safe, not £200 as suggested by the Crown Prosecution Service.

District Judge Martin Walker remanded Thorpe, who is of no fixed address, in custody until Monday, July 25.
