School parking ban agreed for Hartlepool primary

A prohibition of parking in Talland Close near Clavering Primary School was introduced by Hartlepool Borough Council in November 2014 for one year.

It prevents people parking in the cul-de-sac between 8.30am-9.30am and 2.30pm-3.30pm Monday to Friday.

The restriction will continue after the council’s Neighbourhood Services Committee agreed to formally adopt the arrangement.

Alastair Smith, assistant director (neighbourhoods) said: “Properties on Talland Close do have some existing limited off street parking which, particularly during the school collection times, is proving insufficient to meet the excess vehicular demand which has led to reported cases of driveway obstruction and cases of inconsiderate parking.”

Sixteen residents were in favour of the restriction continuing and nine against.
