A SCHOOLGIRL hopes to hit the high notes with judges after scooping a place in a regional final of a talent show.

Courtney Hadwin, from Hesleden, has reached the next stage of TeenStar after wowing the panel with her version of Adele’s Make You Feel My Love at an audition held in Newcastle.

The 10-year-old is a pupil at Heselden Primary School and a member of the Kate Sirs School of Music in Hartlepool and Shotton Hall Theatre School of Performing Arts.

Her father Paul, 28, who is also dad to Paul, eight, and Melissa, six, said: “She’s been singing since she was about eight and she’s never stopped.

“She can’t wait for the next round, she wishes it was tomorrow.”

Courtney already has a host of stage experiences to her name, including a part in a production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Northern Stage.

Her mum Annemarie, also 28, added: “She got through on judges votes there are four judges and the highest scoring from judges go through automatically and then another two go through with audience vote added on to judges votes.

“She has done extremely well to get this far.”

The next part of the contest will be held in Huddersfield next month and puts her one step away from the grand final.
