AN image showing a seagull joining the Red Arrows has become an internet hit as the display team prepare to head for Sunderland.
First year photography student Jade Coxon,18, snapped the cheeky herring gull as she took pictures at the Llandudno Air Show on Saturday.
And, since posting the stunning snap online on Sunday, Jade has clocked up more than a million views.
The picture features eight of the Red Arrows in tight formation, leaving behind their famous vapour trails.
The errant bird is joining them, blocking out the ninth plane – and appearing to leave its own trail behind.
Jade, from Llandudno, a student Chester University student, said: “It was mainly luck but I was really happy with it. I saw the seagull fly in the way of the picture before I took it.
“It is completely covering the plane so you can’t see it and the airtrail is behind the seagull.
“I was there to take pictures of the air show, I was taking pictures of the planes and the seagulls as well and then both things joined together,” said Jade.
•The Red Arrows will play a key part in the Sunderland International Airshow, which runs from July 24 to 26.
We’ll be bringing extensive coverage of the event, including an interactive live blog where you can add our own pictures, videos and views.
