Police have appealed for help in tracking down a Hartlepool woman who has escaped from prison.
Twenty-year-old Leah Dixon is serving a three-year sentence at HMP Askham Grange, Askham Richard, near York, after her conviction at Teesside Crown Court for grievous bodily harm with intent against a woman at a pub in Hartlepool.
She absconded from the prison on December 19 and efforts to track her down have been focused on Hartlepool and Middlesbrough, where she has connections.
Dixon is described as white, 5ft 3in tall, of slim build, with shoulder-length dyed blonde hair, which she wears in a ponytail, and green eyes. She speaks with a Hartlepool/North East accent and has a love heart tattoo on her right wrist and a bar piercing in her belly button.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.
