A team of paranormal investigators will lead a search for spirits when they visit an iconic Hartlepool building.
Hartlepool Paranormal Investigations group will be on the lookout for ghostly goings on in Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre.
The team, and small groups of members of the public, will carry out an investigation in the dead of night as the venue turns 120 years old on Saturday, November 4.
Demand for places has already been high.
Jo Banks, from the paranormal group, said: “If there are any spirits, hopefully with it being an anniversary there might be more activity than you would get on any other night.
“Anniversaries, including of births, deaths or happy moments tend to produce more activity.
I am a sceptic but will go there with an open mindJo Banks
“We are looking at getting about 20 people joining us for the investigation as any more and it gets too noisy.”
The venue in Raby Road is still a working theatre and hosts other events such as Hartlepool Horticultural Show.
Jo added: “I have certainly felt very unnerved in some areas for no reason.
“There is one story about a door swinging very fast and as the person turned round it stopped instantly inches from their face.
“I am a sceptic and always try to look for a logical explanation but will go there with an open mind.” The team will be using all kinds of equipment including thermal imaging cameras to try to spot anything unusual.
The investigation will take place between the hours of 10pm and 2am.
Places are £25. To enquire call the group on 07956 727118.
