AN insurance firm is on the lookout for caring cabbies after launching a new awards scheme.
Swinton Taxi Division, the UK’s leading high street broker of taxi insurance, is running its inaugural ‘Cabbie of the Year 2012’ awards.
And customers across Hartlepool and east Durham are being urged to nominate their favourite drivers to give them a chance of landing the £1,000 top prize.
Prizes of £500 for second place and £250 for third are also up for grabs as Swinton aims to find the driver who goes the extra mile for his customers.
Entries must be no more than 150 words explaining why your nomination deserves to win the prize, and the competition runs from February 1 until April 30.
Alex Cooke of Swinton Taxi Division said: “Taxi drivers do so much for their community with many of us relying on them on a daily basis, whether it’s to get to and from school or work, and even in emergency situations. We’re urging all those taxi drivers or those who know a taxi driver who continuously drives the extra mile for their customers to enter our competition.”
Drivers can also email firstname.lastname@example.org to request an application form or visit www.swintontaxi.co.uk from February 1.
