A TEENAGER has withdrawn her claim that she was the victim of a “serious” sex attack in a family park.

A 30-year-old man had been arrested after the girl told police she had been assaulted while walking in Burn Valley Gardens, in Hartlepool.

The man was later released without charge and detectives have now confirmed that investigations have come to an end after the complaint was withdrawn.

Police had appealed in the Mail for information after the teen claimed she had been attacked at 11.50pm on Monday, February 21.
