A FESTIVAL of entertainment and food will raise money for a Tees Valley charity.
The Oyster Festival takes place at Hardwick Hall Hotel, in Sedgefield, on Friday, September 20, and will be raising much-needed funds for Daisy Chain which helps autistic children and their families.
The festival has raised more than £450,000 for charities since the first event in 2004.
John Adamson, managing director of Ramside Estates which runs the Hardwick Hall Hotel, said: “We have a brilliant relationship with the charity and with it being the tenth anniversary of the festival; we’d love to raise more than ever before. We’ve already managed to raise an impressive amount of money for charity over the past nine festivals, but I’m hoping the tenth anniversary will see us go past the half a million mark.”
Daisy Chain, based in Norton, was established in 2003 and provides a range of services including support and activity groups for families with autistic children.
Chief executive Matt Simpson said: “Fundraising opportunities like this are vital to our ongoing work and to the families we support.”
