“Reviews and awards are always important, but this award is so much more meaningful because it comes directly from our guests.

“The whole Wynyard team make it their mission to give visitors the very best experience and it’s fantastic to know that our service, food and facilities are consistently matching – and in many cases – exceeding expectations.”

Visitors have left messages including “Utterly delightful”, “exemplary service” and “friendly luxury” on the site, which includes reviews and information on more than 400,000 venues across the UK.

TripAdvisor only bestows its Certificate of Excellence to those accommodations, attractions and eateries “that make perfect trips possible” – maintaining an average rating of four or five out of five, a high volume of recent and quality reviews, and a high ranking on its popularity index.

Another reviewer wrote: “I would recommend Wynyard Hall to anyone, be it for a spa day, a meal, a stay or a wedding. Stunning venue and fantastic staff: five star all round.”

The hotel has 20 rooms and suites, five cottages and several function rooms including a 650-seater marquee, a farm shop and café.
