A STAGE society is on the look-out for members - who can choose whether singing, dancing or acting is their bag.
Hartlepool Stage Society are searching for new recruits aged 14-years-old up to adults of all ages.
The popular organisation, which meets in Throston Community Centre, Hartlepool, has plenty of budding young actors and singers but is hoping to attract the slightly older generation.
But the society’s bosses do not want people to be put off by thinking that they have to partake in all areas – they are quite happy for members to choose between singing, dancing, or acting parts, or even all three if so desired.
Jill Jackson, chairman, director and choreographer of Hartlepool Stage Society, said: “The junior section is going really well, the up-take for that is still going strong.
“It’s the senior section that is kind of drying up so it’s kind of the older membership that we are making a plea for.”
She added: “We’re also happy for those who just want to do singing, can just do singing, and those who want to do acting can just do acting, or if people want to do both then that is also fine.
“We’re flexible because we understand some people don’t feel comfortable doing it all and just want to concentrate on one area.”
The group meets every Tuesday from 8pm until 9.30pm in Throston Grange Community Centre, in Glamorgan Grove, Hartlepool.
People who wish to try it can have the first few weeks free, and if they wish to join there is a £60 annual membership fee.
