Spokesman Sarah Barton, the Musical Director of the Hartlepool Junior Stage Society, said: “Following a record-breaking West End season at the Garrick Theatre where it was nominated for Best New West End Musical 2010 by ‘What’s On Stage’, Hartlepool Stage Society is set to present the North East premiere of the David Essex musical, All the Fun of the Fair.”

The show is described as a “rollercoaster ride of a musical”, underscored by David Essex hits such as Winter’s Tale, Hold Me Close, Gonna Make You A Star, Me and My Girl – Nightclubbing, Silver Dream Machine and Rock On.

Shows start at 7pm each evening at the Hartlepool Sixth Form College.

The show is inspired by David’s album All the Fun of the Fair.

The society has just marked its 60th year in existence and is based in the Throston Grange Community Centre.
