The stars of Constellation are coming to a Hartlepool theatre
A performing arts group is set for a 'first' when its members grace the stage at a venue in their home town.
Constellation is the drama group arm of the Hartlepool Special Needs Support Group and has wowed audiences for years.
But for the first time ever, the group will be performing at the Town Hall Theatre in Raby Road in Hartlepool.
Group manager and co-ordinator Pat Allison described it as a “wonderful opportunity” for the members to shine.
The shows will be held on Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12. The Saturday performance will be held at 6pm and the Sunday will be a matinee performance at 2pm.
The production is titled At The Movies and Pat explained more. “Two of our regular clubs are the drama group Constellation and friends Fun.
“This will be the first time the “stars” will be performing in our local theatre. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our children and young adults to showcase some of their talents.”
Many of the stars of Constellation have visited the venue when other local dance schools have been performing, said Pat.
But this is the time for Constellation to shine and Pat said the stage was being adapted with ramps for access to accommodate the cast.
The support group provides social opportunities for children and young adults who have additional needs.
Constellation has appeared in shows regularly at venues across the North East.
Tickets are £8 and they are available from the support group’s own resource centre which is in Park Road.
They can also be bought from the Town Hall Theatre box office which is available on (01429) 890000.
Pat urged people: “Please book your tickets now and come along to have an enjoyable time. This will help us make this event successful.”
The group holds numerous weekly activities at its Park Road base.
They include a Children’s Fun Club, youth club, The Get Together Club, the drama arm of the support group Constellation, and The Friends Fun Club.
