THIS year’s Race for Life is just days away – but there is still time for women to sign up and take part.
Seaton Carew will be a sea of pink when hundreds of women, all with stories to tell and reasons to raise cash, support Cancer Research UK at the popular mass event on Sunday.
Last year 1,311 kind-hearted women, who walked, jogged and ran around the 5k course, raised a huge £67,853.
Organisers are hoping 1,300 will lace up their trainers for this year’s race and would like to go close to last year’s fundraising total once again.
And women still have until Thursday to register for the event.
Claire Wase, Race for Life manager in the North-East, said: “We are very grateful to everyone who has already entered Race for Life but we urgently need many more.
“We hope women will hear our plea and register as soon as possible.
“Together they will help us create a fantastic atmosphere on the day and every step they take and every pound they raise will help the best research teams develop new treatments, bring cures faster and save more lives.”
The race starts at 11am on the seafront promenade.
Entry closes at midnight this Thursday.
