A store has raised hundreds of pounds to help the work of a hospice.

Customers at the Sainsbury’s Hartlepool Local store in Murray Street, voted for the outlet to raise money for Hartlepool & District Hospice.

Spokesman Yolander Cox said £595 was raised through raffles, customer donations and by selling Hartlepool Hospice calendars and purple ribbons on the Wear Purple To Work Day.
