THOUSANDS of parents could be hit as teachers plan to strike over changes to their pensions.

The National Union of Teachers (NUT), the biggest teaching union in the country, and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) have voted to strike in a row with the Government about proposals to change their pension scheme.

The action, planned for Thursday, June 30, over changes which the unions say will leave teachers working longer, paying in more and receiving less when they retire.
