Students organise Easter fair to raise money for good cause
ENTERPRISING and charitable students organised an Easter fair to raise cash for an important town cause.
The hospitality and catering students from Hartlepool College of Further Education, in Stockton Street, Hartlepool, organised the Easter-themed event as part of their social responsibility development.
And the kind-hearted young men and women selected Hartlepool and District Hospice as their chosen charity to benefit from all of the funds that they raised on the day.
The talented team hosted their own baked goods stall, as well as inviting a variety of other exhibitors to sell their own goods as part of the event.
The students have a £1,000 target to raise for the hospice, so the cash raised from this event on Wednesday, March 18, will be added to £300 raised from a similar fair at Christmas.
The exact total from the Easter fair is still being totted up.
Hospitality and Catering lecturer Kevin Dove said: “We are thrilled with the response from the students with the ways in which they have risen to the challenge of raising funds for this amazing local charity organisation.
“They face a lot of challenges in raising the funds and work very hard.
“The Hospitality students are only happy to be a part of this.”
