Visitors to a Sunderland church were given the chance to paint a poppy and be part of a forthcoming exhibition.
Stockton Road United Reformed Church opened its doors to host the art event led by local artist Ian Potts.
The poppy painting session is part of a number of activities taking place to commemorate the First World War.
Last year marked 100 years since the start of the war.
For those who missed out, the next session will take place on Wednesday November 11, from 1pm untl 4pm.
Other dates will also be available throughout November for those wishing to try their hand at painting a poppy.
Finished artwork will then form part of a larger exhibition which will be unveiled at a later date.
