January signing Wahbi Khazri withdrew from the Tunisia squad to face African Cup of Nations qualifiers yesterday after the attacking midfielder sustained a slight injury in last weekend's Tyne-Wear derby.

And fellow new boy Kone has now followed suit after a knock suffered at St James's Park has prompted him to withdraw from the Ivory Coast squad to face African Cup qualifiers against Sudan.

Neither are thought to have sustained serious problems, but the pair will now remain at the Academy of Light for treatment during the international break.
