VOLUNTEERS are needed to compete in an annual RNLI golf day.
The 11th Hartlepool RNLI golf day will be held at Seaton Carew Golf Club, in The Front, Hartlepool, on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.
The 18-hole competition is for teams of three with the best two scores to count at each hole.
There will also be a nearest the pin and longest drive competition and it costs £60 per team, which includes the golf and a hot meal.
Hartlepool RNLI volunteer Tom Price said: “This is our 11th year and the competition is one that is challenging but everyone enjoys the day and people come from right across the north east to support the RNLI.”
Edgar Atkinson, Hartlepool RNLI volunteer treasurer said: “Without fundraising events like this our volunteer crewmembers wouldn’t be able to train and get the right equipment to help save lives at sea.”
Anyone interested in playing or donating a prize for the raffle should ring Mr Atkinson on (01429) 264796 or Allison Malham at Seaton Carew Golf Club on (01429) 266249 to book a tee off time.
The Hartlepool RNLI Lifeboat station is holding an open day this Sunday, May 19 from 9am to 1pm and volunteer crewmembers will be on hand to show members of the public around the station and to answer any questions.
