Teenagers hurt as car overturns after striking bollard

A young driver and his passenger were taken to hospital after suffering injuries in a collision which left their car on its roof.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened last night at 9.30pm on Station Road in Billingham, outside of Florist@51.

A black Vauxhall Corsa collided with a bollard, overturned and came to rest on its roof..

The 17-year-old boy who was driving suffered a broken hand and the 17-year-old girl who was a passenger suffered neck and back pain.

Both were taken to the University Hospital of North Tees for treatment before being released.
