A HOTELIER has been recognised for his huge support for a worthy charity.
John Adamson, who is the owner of the Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield as well as the Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham, has been a long-standing supporter of Butterwick Hospice Care, which is based in the Stockton area.
And at the charity’s corporate reception, which was attended by more than 140 business leaders, he was publicly thanked.
The occasion was made even more special as Mr Adamson also handed over a cheque for £55,000, which was raised at Hardwick Hall’s annual Oyster Festival. Mr Adamson has now been recognised as one of the charity’s corporate partners and has supported its fundraising efforts throughout the year.
Butterwick chief executive, Graham Leggatt-Chidgey, said: “We are extremely grateful to John for his support and that of his fantastic team at Hardwick Hall. His commitment to the hospice this year has enabled us to raise more than £120,000 towards the care of local people.”
The North East Oyster Festival was first created in 2004. Since then, it has catered for more than 25,000 people as well as raising money for charity.
