A business which encourages art for children has won a national award - and it’s Hartlepool franchise has big plans to continue the success.
ARTventurers has scooped the top award in the Working Mums Top Franchise Awards 2017.
It runs art and creative play classes, as well as parties and events for babies, toddlers and children.
And the company is now a national winner just six years after it was founded by mum of two Fiona Simpson in 2011.
It has expanded nationally and now internationally through franchising and there are currently over 25 UK branches of ARTventurers including Hartlepool, as well as one in the USA.
Now ARTventurers has been named Overall Top Franchise 2017 in the Top Franchise Awards.
It’s been a really exciting year. I’ve been running my branch of ARTventurers in Hartlepool for nearly a year now and it’s lovely to see how the babies and children at my classes are learning and developing through art and creative playKiri Dowens
Fiona said: “We’re over the moon to have won the award. We have worked really hard to develop a fun, flexible business opportunity for our franchisees and we invest really heavily in training and support to help them every step of the way in their business journey.”

“It’s been a really exciting year,” said Kiri “I’ve been running my branch of ARTventurers in Hartlepool for nearly a year now and it’s lovely to see how the babies and children at my classes are learning and developing through art and creative play.
“This half term week we’re going to take the arty fun outdoors at my venue in Throston which will be a great opportunity for the children to create some big art.”
The awards, which are sponsored by HSBC, celebrate the best family friendly franchisors across the UK and recognise franchisors of all sizes who have empowered women in business.

It praised its support for maternity leave, and felt other franchises could learn from the kind of engaged, flexible business model it offered.
